Detailed NHS RightCare Intelligence data and Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) which looks at the current and future health and care needs of local populations, combined with input from voluntary organisations and service leads for adult and childrens services, plus mental health and public health, has helped inform our initial areas of work. This includes:
- Cardiovascular – death from strokes is 13% higher in south Trafford than England. We’re looking at early prevention from AF testing to working with children to support healthy lifestyles
- Mental health issues – especially in children and young people
- Cancer – screening. See our news section regarding ongoing bowel, prostate and cervical cancer work
- Family planning/counselling
- Elderly – issues of isolation, injuries through falls/frailty
- Respiratory – focussing on asthma
And AHA PCN is also committed to supporting the community: see how we helped support hungry children during the pandemic
