Our Social Prescribing team is implementing a cookery workshop aimed at encouraging healthy eating, providing cookery education and reducing loneliness in adult men.
Led by an expert with many years of practical experience teaching food and nutrition classes in school and working with adults, the programme involves supporting patients with conditions such as diabetes/heart disease to access our expert-led cookery workshops.
Initially online (due to Covid-19 regulations) and then face-to-face, these sessions aim to highlight the benefits of healthy eating, involve health education and, through social interaction, can help reduce loneliness/isolation. The long-term aim is to establish recipe exchanges and lunch clubs to maintain the momentum.
